Selvita extends its use of ChemAIRS®, Chemical.AI's AI-powered retrosynthesis platform, as part of a broader AI-supported approach to improving drug discovery
Kraków, Poland and Toronto, Canada. October 13, 2026, Chemical.AI and Selvita, a leading European contract research organization (CRO) providing integrated drug discovery, drug development, and contract testing services, today announced an expansion of their collaboration. Following the initial adoption of ChemAIRS® in July 2025, Selvita is extending the use of Chemical.AI's AI-powered retrosynthesis platform to support synthetic route design across its discovery activities. The expanded deployment gives Selvita's teams access to four ChemAIRS® functional modules: Retrosynthesis, Condition Search, Impurity Prediction, and Quotation.
ChemAIRS® complements Selvita's internal AI/ML capabilities and is incorporated into a broader scientific workflow spanning medicinal, computational and process chemistry across the discovery pipeline. This combination enables Selvita's project teams to integrate AI-supported route design alongside the proprietary models and workflows developed internally.
Collaboration Background
Chemical.AI and Selvita began working together in July of 2025, when Selvita first adopted ChemAIRS® to support synthetic route design within its integrated drug discovery programs.
Selvita employs around 900 experts across its research sites in Krakow, Poznan, and Wroclaw, Poland, as well as Zagreb, Croatia, including more than 400 scientists supporting Drug Discovery activities.
Since the collaboration began in 2025, Selvita chemists have applied ChemAIRS® across a range of early- and late-stage discovery and scale-up activities, including early route assessment, synthetic planning and evaluation of alternative synthetic options. The breadth of projects within Selvita’s portfolio has enabled the platform to be used across a diverse range of chemistry challenges and target classes.
“Our clients increasingly bring us challenging chemistry problems that require rapid assessment of multiple options. ChemAIRS provides our scientists with an efficient way to explore and compare potential routes, helping us evaluate feasibility earlier and focus resources on the most promising approaches. Combined with the expertise of our chemists and our internal AI-enabled workflows, it supports faster decision-making and strengthens the quality of our scientific recommendations”. Przemyslaw Zawadzki, VP Chemistry, Selvita.
“We're glad to see Selvita continuing to utilize ChemAIRS® this past year to improve their already outstanding efforts," says Dr. Ning Xia, Founder & CEO of Chemical.AI. "As we extend this collaboration, we'll keep enhancing ChemAIRS® features based on what Selvita's chemists need day-to-day, and we look forward to working even more closely with Selvita going forward,” adds Arthur Li, VP at Chemical.AI.
What ChemAIRS® Does
ChemAIRS® Retrosynthesis and Condition Search support early route assessment, giving chemists ranked route options beyond traditional literature-based search. Impurity Prediction identifies reaction impurities with an agentic AI-integrated LCMS and NMR data analysis function, while Process Chemistry insights highlight cost and feasibility issues.
